The Research on Central SOEs’ Development of Elderly-caring Industry Model is a key research project proposed by the SASAC in 2021, and was co-conducted by China Chengtong and the Bureau of Administrative Support of the SASAC. Based on extensive research on current practices and analysis of existing problems, the research group has proposed that central SOEs should be the ‘practitioner’ of national strategy, the ‘explorer’ of business model of elderly-care industry, the ‘leader’ of quality-driven development of elderly-care industry, and the ‘promoter’ of industrial structure reform. The research has also proposed eight business models from the perspective of industrial management, assets operation and capital operation, which has offered a valuable reference for enterprises in elderly-care industry to achieve sustainable development.
